Scope and Contents The Norene Roberts Photograph Collection was accessioned as part of her papers that she donated to the Institute for Regional Studies in 1995. North Dakota Oil Industry Photograph Collection (Fargo Forum)

Scope and Contents This photograph collection documents the oil industry in western North Dakota in the early 1950s. Most of the photographs apparently were taken by staff of the Fargo Forum, likely for a special edition and series of articles devoted to the oil industry that were published in the newspaper. Most are 8x10 in. prints and have been organized topically. Scope and Contents The photographs depict a wide variety of rural community, recreational and meeting centers located throughout the state. Other facilities include churches, tree groves, lakes, parks, picnic grounds & groves and schools. The photographs have been organized by type of facility and then subdivided by county, city and specific geographic location. This organization was developed by the archives staff.

Scope and Contents The North Dakota Slide Collection consists of a wide range of images taken across the state of North Dakota in the late 1950s through the 1960s. The format of the collection is entirely color slides. During processing the original organization of the slides was reworked a bit. The agriculture, industry and business, wild animals, and sporting categories were kept although some of them received new names. The scenery category was split into two series, City and Town Views and Country Views....

Abstract The Olaf Sand photograph collection consists mainly of portraiture, including of Dr. Sand, Dr. Sand with family or friends, portraits of people in Dr. Sand’s family, and two images of Dr. Sand in medical rooms. There are six images of Dr. Sand’s birth town in Norway. Also included is a postcard with a Native American picture on front. These photographs were accessioned with Dr. Olaf Sand’s papers in 1956. The papers have been processed separately as Manuscript 570.
